THANKS

I just wanted to give Larry Fillmore another big thank you for all his efforts and findings.  He has done all he can and yet the citizens are not engaged.  After two no votes the council will enact their own budget.  That makes absolutely no sense when people get to vote, possibly no,  that the bloated current councilor budget goes into effect.

Many area towns are holding the line on spending, while Lisbon continues its spending spree.  Why are the councilors so afraid of Bowie that they keep voting the way he wants?  Not one councilor is showing any backbone or independent thinking.  Also, RKO has been doing the town audit for around 30 years or so.  The auditors from RKO are very well-educated smart people, but the relationship to the town may have become too cozy.

I think it is high time to put the audit out to bid and consider another firm with a fresh perspective.  The mil rate needs to remain the same or less as economic times are still unstable, but Lisbon forges ahead as though times were great.    Until Bowie, Brooks and Eldridge are gone, nothing will change as certain citizens and councilors are so weak and followers, not leaders.  Thanks for being a LEADER Larry.
