Backed by Occupy, Maine man battles foreclosure

Timothy Mark Cason said he won't go quietly into foreclosure and eviction from his home at 371 Main St. in Bowdoinham.
A remodeling contractor who said he has lived at the roughly one-acre rural property for 19 years, Cason said he was served with foreclosure in 2010, and "since then it's been a back and forth paper shuffle."
The situation changed on Thursday night when officials issued a writ of possession, giving Cason 48 hours to vacate. This foreclosure proceeding by Bank of Maine, formerly Savings Bank of Maine, has sparked pushback from Cason and members of Occupy Maine, who argue the bank doesn't have legal grounds to evict him.
Heidi J. Vierthaler, Occupy Maine member, joined Cason at his home Monday morning to draw attention to the looming eviction. Vierthaler said supporters have garnered more than 160 signatures on a petition opposing the foreclosure.
The 48 hours notice was served on Thursday night around 8 p.m. and expired on Saturday night, Vierthaler said. Now, Cason is subject to eviction.
"Up until this month they've continued to send the monthly payment with late fees," Cason said.
The current balance he owes is about $125,000. A $25,000 payment would bring him current, Cason said.
"We're not looking to remove Mr. Cason from his residence," Sagadahoc County Sheriff Joel Merry said Monday.
"There is a foreclosure, and it's a civil matter between the bank and the property owner, in this particular case Mr. Cason," Merry said. "He has been properly served notice with a writ of possession which would forbid him from being on the property after 48 hours. That 48 hours has come."Read more here:

Hey everyone Tim here. I just want to thank each and every one of you for your support. It really means so much to me. We all need to start showing these banksters that we are sick and tired of being shafted. These banks are making money hand over fist in ways that most people are not aware of. for each "loan" they make they are paid a minimum of ten times the face value of the note, and then they want to steal our homes and sell that to make more money and to do the process all over again. What a racket. Stand with my friends and I and watch them be exposed. I am mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore. Thanks again everyone.

Everyone in America needs to become aware that their homes are NOT SAFE! Even if you've NEVER been late or missed a mortgage payment, you are NOT SAFE from having your home stolen from you! the big banks & investment firms, did not simply 'mishandle' mortgages, they weren't JUST greedy, they have committed FELONY FRAUD on the courts, they have committed FELONY FRAUD through the postal system, they have committed RACKETEERING, RICO, & broken so many laws in every state that you would be SURE that the FBI would have had EVERY CEO for these corporations in prison by now, their assets frozen or distributed out to the investors who have been swindled on a massive scale. These are not just 'white collar' crimnals, these are 'DOMESTIC TERRORISTS' and the worst part about it, is they OWN & CONTROL our government...they make sure laws are instituted to hold them unaccountable....they have corrupted our courts, our judges, the very people inthe government who are supposed ot 'regulate them' are some of same people who began this debaucle in the first place! This is the actual 49 States Attorney's General Complaint, not just Colorados... although not comphrehensive by any means, it certainly lets the reader know that our Attorney Generals all knew that the big banks were obviously engaged in multiple frauds, rico and other scams that would normally put a regular citizen behind bars for the remainder of their lives. So why didn't they demand justice instead of working out a pathetic 'settlement'?

Hey all, Tim here with an update. So Bank of Maine through their hired gun lawfirm Drummond and Drummond are pushing forward for me to remove my 19 years of life including several stationary wood working tools by as early as Friday the 21st of September. Still do not know where I will put itall should I still need to move it. Knowone from Bank of Maine has ever attempted to ever talk with me, to find out if there is some kind of solution. They have simply turned the cogs in the wheel of their foreclosure machine. Well, I fully intend to push back, to expose their complete lack of caring about anyone or anything but their bottom line. it is quite appearent that people dont matter to them. my life has been hell for a ling time thanks to their cold sholder. And for that I must do what I must do. There are laws and punishment for theft are there not?
