Lisbon Chief of Police David T. Brooks
The problems in our town just keep surfacing. It seems every day something new
comes to light. Are the council members so arrogant that they believe they are
above the law? I have had a hard time believing a veteran police officer Like
Chief Brooks would knowingly jeopardize his position and reputation by ignoring
what is going on. I think its time for the council to step down and let people
with the training and understanding of local governmental procedures take charge.
Also we should have a manager who lives in the town he manages. In this way he
will have sympathy for the residents of the
town if he has to pay the same taxes. That is only fair.

I wholehartedly agree, Don.
Chief Brooks has been collecting retirement benefits for nore than several years, plus his full pay, courtesy of the Town of Lisbon taxpayers. Is his ego that big that he needs the adoration of his subjects? A big budget cost-cutting would be to actually retire him (fire him), and hire soneone else at a starting wage.
Also, it should be a requirement that anyone deciding on our budget should be not only a resident but pay real estate taxes, including on the town council and on the finance committee.
Mr. Wile, you bring out some interesting points. But if you think about it; who was in charge of overseeing the investigation of the misappropriated $32,500. Chief Brooks in the ring leader and is responsible for the hiring of Mr. Eldrdige. There were individuals more qualified for the position but none who could cover-up mismanagement as well as Eldridge. He had a history in Rumford so he was perfect for the job.

You guys need to get lives! This web site hurts Lisbon more then anything else. The people of Lisbon have voted and if you don't like the way the town is moving then YOU MOVE! I love this town and am tired of you finding any little reason to bitch and complane. I will happely help you pack your moving trucks as would 99% of the town. Hey Danny, with your spelling exhibition and sentence formation did you graduate from Lisbon High School by chance?,, You Know, where they have to rent a Place in Lewiston to hold Lisbon's Graduation Ceremonies because the High School isn't big enough and is a step away from being condemned. But the Fire and Police have all the funds to Play with they want. Perhaps You should just not look at TLR if it upsets you so much. You know the Truth is very hard for some Lisbon Folks to accept.
The message, wake up and get more involved in your community politics, is a fantastic one. More citizens should be aware of and participate in the goings-on in Lisbon. The manner in which that point is related on this site, however, is very often insulting, personal, and ugly. Whether or not Danny can spell happily correctly is unrelated to his point....or perhaps it demonstrates it perfectly. The tone of this site is so off-putting that you lose the message completely. It's rather unfortunate, I think.
Danny; If you cannot see a problem with how the Town of Lisbon is being run, excuse me, being mismanaged, my thought is that you must be one of the "good old boys". The old saying; If you are not against them, than you are with them.

Dear Frank Ruzzo or whom ever you are you are in a definite fog with your details. Lisbon is run by gang of thugs protected by Brooksie. He has destroyed,invented, or lost valuable and pertinent facts in many criminal investigations in Lisbon. All to be protected by the Thin Blue Line.
