Why is The Moxie Festival in Lisbon Falls?

The Firemen’s Muster on Main Street on Saturday afternoon that started in 1984 was one of the first Moxie Festival events.

  The official 2010 Moxie t-shirt logo was created by Jenna Clifford, a recent graduate of P.W. Sugg Middle School in Lisbon.

Why is the The Moxie Festival held in Lisbon Falls?  The answer is Frank Anicetti and The Kennebec Fruit Company located on Main Street and Route 196 in downtown Lisbon Falls, Maine.

Frank’s grandfather opened the Kennebec Fruit Company in 1914 to sell fruits and vegetables and in 1919 began selling his own special-recipe ice cream.  Over the years, the Anicetti family collected Moxie memorabilia.

By the time Frank took over the store in the 1970s, it was the place to drink Moxie, purchase Moxie memorabilia, sample Moxie ice cream, and spend an hour or two talking with Frank about his private Moxie collection.

When author Frank Potter from Newport News, Virginia, was researching his book, Moxie Mystique in the late 1970s, he naturally turned to Frank for facts, stories and legends.

 

After the book was published, Frank invited Mr. Potter to Lisbon Falls the second weekend in July for an autograph signing event at the store.  “I invited 13 people by postcard, planned for 50, and was surprised when 500 people showed, up” said Frank.

Another signing was planned the following year as more Moxie fans became aware of the unique Moxie heritage found in the large yellow building still known as the Kennebec Fruit Company.

The 1984 signing included a fireman’s muster on Main Street and the first Moxie parade in 1985 drew hundreds of Moxie fans. 

The Moxie Festival today includes a three day Pow Wow; Friday night firework show; a Saturday parade, 5K race, and family fun carnival; and on Sunday, the Chief Worumbo Androscoggin River canoe race.  Moxie was designated Maine’s official soft drink on May 20, 2005.

According to Lisbon Public Safety Officials, an estimated 40,000 people attend the three-day Moxie Festival.  The Town of Lisbon has approximately 9,300 residents.

You can still talk to Frank about anything Moxie.  And plenty of people from around the USA and the world stop by to get his take on Moxie.  Just ask to see one of his guest books that span over 30 years.  The Kennebec Fruit Company is open seven days a week unless Frank has something better to do.

I do not like Barack Obama. I did not like or trust
him from the first time I heard him speak.
   CHANGE! CHANGE! CHANGE!
Change with no substance. No plan for change.
 
But now, let's go back 12 years, to former
President George W. Bush and his election,
the hanging chads in Florida, when his brother
was Governor of Florida, and tell me that election
was on the up and up, that G.W. Bush won the election
fairly and honestly. 

Now, go back 6 years and we have de 'ja vous. all over again.
Problems with voting ballots. But, you guessed it, G.W Bush
was re-elected. Another 4 years of G.W. Bush. Tax breaks for
'big oil'. Bailout's for banks with no strings attached, an 
un-winnable war. A war that is costing the United States
Government and it's citizens 12 billion dollars a month,
not to mention the loss of precious lives.

No wonder we cannot afford to give our senior citizens
a raise in their social security. I could go on and on, but
why bother. Republicans have short memories, and 
to quote the above:

The jury deliberated for over 3 hrs. until they came up with the verdict.  The defendants Barack Hussein Obama & Columbia Univ. were FOUND GUILTY ON ALL charges.  The charges include  “mail fraud,” “wire fraud,” “obstruction of justice,” & “sedition.”  Barack HUSSEIN Obama has been found guilty of the greatest FRAUD in election history.  

Therefore, as of today, the judgment, reputation & credibility of many Journalists, & politicians, have been irrevocably destroyed. The MYTHS planted by Barack HUSSEIN Obama have been destroyed.  Barack Hussein Obama NOW has a great deal of explaining to do about who he is, where he came from, & why he is using another person’s SSN. The trial, the evidence, & the guilty verdict, PROVE that Barack HUSSEIN Obama is NOT who he claims to be, & that it is NOT LIKELY for the GREATEST FRAUD in election history to stand much longer. 

 
2 independent investigations using 2 different data sources, discovered that the SSN used by   Barack HUSSEIN Obama mysteriously coincides with SSNs verified to have been Issued by the state of Connecticut between 1977 & 1979, a full 2 yrs. AFTER Obama’s 1st, publicly-documented record of employment at a Hawaii Baskin-Robbins back in 1975. The no. that Barack HUSSEIN Obama is NOW using, as he impersonates the U.S. Pres., was originally issued to a man long deceased, who would now be OVER 120 yrs. old, if he were still alive. 

 
Those who still possess critical thinking skills have insisted that something in Barack HUSSEIN Obama’s records of his life before becoming U.S. Senator from Illinois, stinks to High Heaven.   Those who dare to raise any question regarding this FRAUD have been viciously attacked by            so-called journalists, politicians, pundits & Obama’s base, as racists. RACISTS???                          You become a racist by questioning FRAUD, which puts the ENTIRE WORLD in danger of destruction? Some who dared question, like Lt. Col. Terry Lakin, even face Career-ending persecution, & court-martial, as a result. Some like Lt. Quarl Harris have been MURDERED.  
In the end it will not matter if Barack HUSSEIN Obama stonewalls, if the AP & UPI ignores the story, or if Bill O’Reilly, Glenn Beck, & Rush Limbaugh Wishes it would go away. The trial of the century  has PROVED that the smoking gun pointing to Obama’s illegitimacy will NOT go away.   

                  
Too bad for the Bill O'Reillys, Glenn Becks, & Rush Limbaughs, who are employed by the prince of the power of the air. Too bad for U.S. Senators & Representatives, IF, & it is a BIG IF, if there ever   is another general election.  

The evidence brought forth in the trial & GUILTY verdict has uncovered, & is unraveling, the GREATEST ELECTION FRAUD in history, & ranks High on the list of all time Crimes, Frauds, & Conspiracies. The FACTS of Barack HUSSEIN Obama's PHONEY Columbia Univ. political science Degree, the use of 39 DIFFERENT SSNs, & FORGED Selective Service registration, simply will not be wished away. 

 
LOOKING VERY WILLINGLY IGNORANT & DUMB ON PURPOSE TODAY ARE: 

1 - Those who dismissed Barack Hussein Obama's Eligibility Impossibility & made light of the         Constitutional question as either an irrelevant or unimportant issue.
2 - Those who said the election decided the issue.
3 - Those who said Barack Hussein Obama had been vetted.
4 - Those who said the people who said it is NOT a GREAT CONSTITUTIONAL CRISIS for Barrack Hussein Obama to Occupy The Whitehouse.
5 - Those who said the soldiers who were questioning Barack Hussein Obama's authority to give any order as commander-in-chief of the U.S. Military were somehow wrong.
6 - Those who said it was racist to question Barack Hussein Obama's ELIGIBILITY to be Pres..
7 - Those who used the BIRTHER term to denigrate anyone who understood the ROOT problems with Barack Hussein Obama had NOTHING to do with RACE, but rather had everything to do with his Mother being under age, his father NOT being & American, & the fact that Barack Hussein Obama is one of the greatest criminal liars & frauds of all history.  

Barack Hussein Obama has now been PROVEN to have committed the Crime of identity theft, & used that crime to FRAUDULENTLY USURP The office of Pres. of the United States. The trial, prosecuted by Dr. James David Manning, also proved Barack HUSSEIN Obama could NOT                 pull something like this off ALONE, meaning PROVEN CONSPIRACY, & SEDITION.                     The implications become obvious that not only is Obama guilty, but everyone in the                 mainstream media who refused to raise & properly Address the so-called BIRTHER issue. Obviously, the Bush family, & the Clinton family, were in on the FRAUD. The U.S. Supreme Court was in on the FRAUD. 

The U.S. House & Senate were in on the FRAUD. The big question is how many in the U.S. Military leadership were involved with the FRAUD. & the most important question of  - What will the U.S. Military do about this FRAUD?  Will the U.S. Military blindly follow orders from such a FRAUD-IN-CHIEF?  

Columbia Univ. was paid to give a degree to Barack Hussein Obama.  The Harlem Trial, May 14-19, prosecuted by Dr. James David Manning PROVED “beyond any reasonable doubt” that Barack Hussein Obama, though he obtained a FRAUDULENT degree from Columbia Univ., which allowed him to enter Harvard Law School, NEVER DID ATTEND Columbia Univ.  Wayne Allyn Root was valedictorian of the Columbia Univ. class of '83 of which Barack Hussein Obama FRAUDULENTLY claimed he was part. On May 17, 2010 Root wrote: All I can testify to is that I was a member of the Class of ’83- just like Obama. & that I was pre Law & a political science major- just like Obama.         It was a small class- about 700 students. Political science majors would be an even smaller group. Therefore it struck me… & many others… as strange that I never met Obama at college, never saw him, never even heard of him in my time at Columbia & that more importantly, I don’t know any classmate to this day who ever met or heard of a classmate named Barack Obama or Barry Obama or Barry Soetoro. Even stranger still, the Wall St. Journal reported in its editorial pages back in     2008 that Fox News called 400 of my classmates & they could not find 1 student who had ever met
Obama at Columbia. Adding to the mystery is the fact that Pres. Obama has sealed all of his college records at Occidental & Columbia.  All of this should be troubling to every American, no matter what your political beliefs.  

Barack Hussein Obama has obviously gotten help in forging documents & forming the proven conspiracy from within the dept. Health & Human Services, the SS Admin., &  other U.S. federal govt. agencies. Will Barack Hussein Obama's co-conspirators be tracked down, arrested, tried?  

The Military has plausible deniability for complicity in the allowing the FRAUD-IN-CHIEF to occupy the Whitehouse. The trial of the century gives the U.S. Military the opportunity to either be   FAITHFUL OR DERELECT in their oath of service.  What will the U.S. Military DO?                        

That remains   the BIG QUESTION however thanks to the prosecution of the trial of the century        by Dr. James David Manning, the U.S. Military has been given reason to have a peaceful removal     of   the FRAUD-IN-CHIEF. Failing that, this whole world better get prepared for unprecedented   events that will even cause men's hearts to be failing them for fear, & for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: IF the U.S. Military follows the commands & orders of       the FRAUD-IN-CHIEF.  

It is very definitely TIME to PRAY & seek to find the grace of God evidenced in PERSONAL repentance. I don't carry a gun to kill people.
I carry a gun to keep from being killed.

I  don't carry a gun to scare people.
I carry a gun because sometimes this world can be a scary place.

I don't carry a gun because I'm paranoid.
I carry a gun because there are real threats in the world.

I don't carry a gun because I'm evil.
I carry a gun because I have lived long enough to see the evil in the world.

I don't carry a gun because I hate the government.
I carry a gun because I understand the limitations of government.

I don't carry a gun because I'm angry.
I carry a gun so that I don't have to spend the rest of my life hating myself for failing to be prepared.

I don't carry a gun because I want to shoot someone.
I carry a gun because I want to die at a ripe old age in my bed, and not on a sidewalk

 somewhere tomorrow afternoon.

I don't carry a gun because I'm a cowboy.
I carry a gun because, when I die and go to heaven, I want to be a cowboy.

Police protection is an oxymoron.

Free citizens must protect themselves.

Police do not protect you from crime, they usually just investigate the crime after it happens and then call someone in to clean up the mess.

Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens.

The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them of this history lesson.

With guns, we are 'citizens'.  Without them, we are 'subjects'.

During WWII the Japanese decided not to invade  America because they knew most Americans were ARMED!

The purpose of fighting is to win.

Lisbon Trail Project Public Meeting Update

The public meeting to see the presentation by the engineers from Woodard & Curran, and provide them with feedback, took place 6/22, to a good public attendance. The presentation simulated the highlights of the trail route and the audience gave positive feedback. The discussion of the original route along the riverfront was dismissed by the project engineer because it would cost $100,000 for DEP permit fees. Questions related to the fact that their route adds an extra 10% of length to the $1,600,000 project, went unanswered. That $160,000 and the $200,000 bridge over the gully and the cost for the 300' ramp (which will exceed the maximum 8% grade) would be better spent elsewhere.

 

They agreed that the riverfront route would be a greater attraction, but will not be considered unless there is strong public demand to do so. They recommended that people walk the route and provide feedback. There will be installing stakes in July to mark the route. The riverfront is the left picture and the Davis Street route is on the right. The options are exlained in LR post on 6/22.

My Personal Feelings

"Another Soldier died today"

To keep the war afar,

Away from those that are close to us,

So we can live just as we are,

So another soldier died today,

And you have to wonder why,

To help protect subversives here?

Is that a reason they should die?

A nation of "Legal Immigrants",

Welcomed by the sight,

A  "Statue of Liberty" in full view,

Waiting to help their plight,

The Irish came, Italians, Greeks,

Israelis, many more,

Just looking for our way of life,

Once they hit our shore!

They didn't try to change us,

But more importantly,

Accepted what we stood for,

For the sake of being free!

So another soldier died today,

While the muslims go their way,

We're protecting them and families,

As they're plotting to this day!

The same with illegal immigrants,

Who add little to my life,

They care little for our legal system,

causing nothing , but strife.

They use all of our services,

Health & welfare, firemen,

Police and all conveniences,

Available to free men,

They won't assimilate themselves,

Into a free society,

They want the best of what we have,

But their own way, you can see,

Immigrants from around the world,

have emigrated to our shore,

Tried to blend with Americans,

But muslims want much more!

Remember September 11,

Across the USA,

The muslim community did not react,

To that atrocious act,

and Obama will assure us,

"Don't over-react",

Our President enriches them

He's active for their cause,

(Obama) "Don't worry! They are peaceful"?

No need to even pause!

They're not Anti-American,

In their "Saudi" paid for schools,

of course they're not, he'll tell us,

Since he thinks we all are fools,

Obama has two first's in my life history,

1) Abandoned a sister state (Arizona)

2)Insult our nations highest court,

Both on "National TV"

The Mayor of Boston, "quoted" in the Herald,

"We're a Nation of Immigrants"

BUT!  Our forefathers came "the legal way"!

Their Papers all in order!

They didn't murder, blunder, loot us,

As they forced across our border!

So another soldier died today!

As the drums roll and the taps play!

They die too soon, they won't grow old

But "illegals & radical muslims" are here to stay!

As Glenn Beck correctly predicted from day one, Obama is following the plan of Cloward & Piven, two professors at Columbia University . They outlined a plan to socialize America by overwhelming the system with government spending and entitlement demands. Add up the clues below. Taken individually they're alarming. Taken as a whole, it is a brilliant, Machiavellian game plan to turn the United States into a socialist/Marxist state with a permanent majority that desperately needs government for survival ... and can be counted on to always vote for bigger government. Why not? They have no responsibility to pay for it.

-- Universal health care. The health care bill had very little to do with health care. It had everything to do with unionizing millions of hospital and health care workers, as well as adding 15,000 to 20,000 new IRS agents (who will join government employee unions). Obama doesn't care that giving free health care to 30 million Americans will add trillions to the national debt. What he does care about is that it cements the dependence of those 30 million voters to Democrats and big government. Who but a socialist revolutionary would pass this reckless spending bill in the middle of a depression?

-- Cap and trade. Like health care legislation having nothing to do with health care, cap and trade has nothing to do with global warming. It has everything to do with redistribution of income, government control of the economy and a criminal payoff to Obama's biggest contributors. Those powerful and wealthy unions and contributors (like GE, which owns NBC, MSNBC and CNBC) can then be counted on to support everything Obama wants. They will kick-back hundreds of millions of dollars in contributions to Obama and the Democratic Party to keep them in power. The bonus is that all the new taxes on Americans with bigger cars, bigger homes and businesses helps Obama "spread the wealth around."

-- Make Puerto Rico a state. Why? Who's asking for a 51st state? Who's asking for millions of new welfare recipients and government entitlement addicts in the middle of a depression? Certainly not American taxpayers. But this has been Obama's plan all along. His goal is to add two new Democrat senators, five Democrat congressman and a million loyal Democratic voters who are dependent on big government.

-- Legalize 12 million illegal immigrants. Just giving these 12 million potential new citizens free health care alone could overwhelm the system and bankrupt America . But it adds 12 million reliable new Democrat voters who can be counted on to support big government. Add another few trillion dollars in welfare, aid to dependent children, food stamps, free medical, education, tax credits for the poor, and eventually Social Security.

-- Stimulus and bailouts. Where did all that money go? It went to Democrat contributors, organizations (ACORN), and unions -- including billions of dollars to save or create jobs of government employees across the country. It went to save GM and Chrysler so that their employees could keep paying union dues. It went to AIG so that Goldman Sachs could be bailed out (after giving Obama almost $1 million in contributions). A staggering $125 billion went to teachers (thereby protecting their union dues). All those public employees will vote loyally Democrat to protect their bloated salaries and pensions that are bankrupting America . The country goes broke, future generations face a bleak future, but Obama, the Democrat Party, government, and the unions grow more powerful. The ends justify the means.

-- Raise taxes on small business owners, high-income earners, and job creators. Put the entire burden on only the top 20 percent of taxpayers, redistribute the income, punish success, and reward those who did nothing to deserve it (except vote for Obama). Reagan wanted to dramatically cut taxes in order to starve the government. Obama wants to dramatically raise taxes to starve his political opposition.

With the acts outlined above, Obama and his regime have created a vast and rapidly expanding constituency of voters dependent on big government; a vast privileged class of public employees who work for big government; and a government dedicated to destroying capitalism and installing themselves as socialist rulers by overwhelming the system.

Add it up and you've got the perfect Marxist scheme -- all devised by my Columbia University college classmate Barack Obama using the Cloward and Piven Plan.

Maine Warden Service, Maine Marine Patrol To Increase OUI-Boating Enforcement This Weekend

AUGUSTA – Are you looking forward to a relaxing boat ride this weekend with that ice chest full of cold beer? Better think again.

The Maine Warden Service and Maine Marine Patrol this weekend will be participating in Operation Dry Water, a national coordinated effort of stepped-up law enforcement looking for boat operators who are under the influence of drugs or alcohol or whose blood alcohol concentration exceeds the state limit. In Maine, the limit is 0.08%.

Operation Dry Water will include increased patrols looking for impaired operation, and also will focus on boater education and safety. Those operators who have been consuming will be subjected to field sobriety testing and, if warranted, breathalyzer analysis.

“We want people to have fun while boating,” said Maine Warden Service Lt. Adam Gormely. “But boating under the influence of alcohol or drugs has become the leading contributing factor in fatal recreational boating accidents. For safety, we recommend that all boaters avoid drinking alcoholic beverages or using drugs, and we will have zero tolerance for anyone found operating a boat under the influence of alcohol or drugs on Maine’s waters.”

Boating under the influence can lead to another serious criminal violation – driving under the influence – as impaired boaters may leave waterways, get into their vehicles and travel on roads. The Maine Warden Service, Maine Marine Patrol and Maine State Police this summer are airing public service announcements on television and the Internet reminding boat operators to not drink and drive or boat.

Alcohol can impair a boater’s judgment, balance, vision and reaction time. It can increase fatigue and susceptibility to the effects of cold-water immersion. Sun, wind, noise, vibration and motion – “stressers” common to the boating environment – intensify the side effects of alcohol, drugs and some prescription medications.

Operation Dry Water is in its second year, and is set for the weekend preceding the Fourth of July holiday weekend. During last year’s Operation Dry Water effort in Maine, five citations were issued for operating under the influence while boating, including one to a boater whose blood-alcohol level was 0.21, and 117 boaters were given safety warnings.

“There will be arrests this weekend, and some boaters will face the consequences of operating under the influence while boating,” said Lt. Gormely. “But we’d much rather arrest someone than to have to tell their family and friends that they’re never coming back.”

Operation Dry Water is a joint program of the Maine Warden Service, Maine Marine Patrol, the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators, and the U.S. Coast Guard.

The Androscoggin River Trail is taking shape over the next two years, after decades of vision, effort, and with the allocation of $1,600,000 in State and local funds. However, unless the public speaks out at this meeting, it will be reduced from a jewel for Maine and a legacy for future generations to just another paving project, which allows the engineers to say they met the requirements, but misses the whole point; something people will use. 

The benefits of doing this right include enhanced quality of life, image, property value, business development, population retention, community pride, and showcasing the unique character of the area. The popularity of the Papermill Trail shows how a well designed trail can become a focal point of the community and be intensively used. The Mill Street and Upland Road sidewalk/trail is evidence of what happens when the vision is lost and it becomes a paving project. Usage of the Papermill Trail runs 20:1 over the other section, which the engineers selected without consideration for trail users interest in a quality experience. They are now at work to do the same with this project.

The vision was to create a two mile long greenbelt along the water from the Sabattus River outlet to Lisbon Falls. We have the rare situation of having a sole landowner of the entire route, who has been very generous in the past and is very supportive of the project. The entire area would become a destination as an educational resource, a park, a canoe landing, as well as a transportation corridor. With this landowner’s support, the waterfront would be accessible for water related travel, exponentially increasing the possibilities for access and use. The resulting increased tourism traffic would have far reaching economic impact.

The riverfront route would be lined and shaded by stately mature tree growth and entail level or gently sloping terrain. The engineers contend that the riverfront scenery and lack of steep grades are boring, but actual trail users obviously feel otherwise. It would be inviting to all ages and physical abilities and the most direct route, resulting in 1,000’ less pavement. It eliminates several steep grades along the alternative route, which would keep a large portion of trail users away. Several large wetland crossings on the engineers preferred route will require expensive solutions. The only significant water crossing on the riverfront route would be much shorter and also become a scenic focal point, as opposed to a massive structure proposed to cross the swamp.

The riverfront route maximizes the experience of getting away from traffic and the man-made environment. The alternative route has the first ¼ mile of both ends in the road right-of-way, which creates an experience which will put off most users from going any further. The Davis Street section will but up against numerous mobile homes and cut through the yard of a trucking company. The loss of any front yard, any privacy, parking space and interference in the conduct of business is likely to result in negative feelings toward trail users in the neighborhood. One land owner has already expressed disapproval by installing nearly 1,000’ of chain link fence along this trail route. The riverfront route connects to a canoe dock and parking area well suited to support the creation of canoe related trail use.

MPUC INQUIRY OPENED FOR PSAP CONSOLIDATION

Augusta, Maine— The Maine Public Utilities Commission opened an Inquiry to allow the Commission’s Emergency Services Communication Bureau (Bureau) to collect information to help its planning process—as directed by the Legislature—for a new configuration of 15-17 PSAPS down from the current 26. The Commission will issue a proposed consolidation plan for comment before submitting its final plan to the Legislature’s Utilities and Energy Committee by November 1, 2010.

“Through this Inquiry, the Commission seeks information and input from interested parties about many aspects of the emergency communications system, including: criteria for determining the number and locations of PSAPs, communications and public safety impact of consolidating call answering and dispatch functions, appropriate methods for identifying which PSAPS to close, and processes, incentives and timeframes for closing,” stated Commissioner Vendean Vafiades.  The Notice of Inquiry contains eighteen general questions for anyone providing comments, and several specific questions for certain regions of the state.

Background: In 2003, the Legislature directed that the number of PSAPs be reduced—to the extent possible--from 48 to a number between 16 and 24. Subsequently, the Commission opened an Inquiry, conducted rule-making and in a September 2006 Order, adopted 25 as the number of PSAPs. Further process in 2007 added one more PSAP for a current total of 26. In 2009, the Legislature directed the Bureau to study and report back on the optimum PSAP configuration for Maine; the Commission contracted with L. R. Kimball Associates, a firm specializing in E911 design and public safety consolidation. Kimball’s study recommended the optimum PSAP configuration consist of 15 to 17 regionally located centers and that PSAP and dispatch functions should be consolidated to the extent possible into these regional centers. The Legislature then adopted the Kimball plan and directed the Bureau to develop a plan by November to reach this recommended configuration.

Process: Comments on this Inquiry should be filed no later than July 12, 2010. Parties may file further comments in response to those filed by July 12th, by July 19th.  Comments should be submitted electronically by following the e-filing instructions on the Commission’s website (www.maine.gov/mpuc ). New station mixes Oldies with Moxie

June 21, 2010.  The Moxie Festival Committee is pleased to announce their new partnership with Oldies 106, WQRY, an internet radio station based in Lisbon Falls, Maine. Oldies 106 jocks will broadcast live from The Moxie Festival between 11 am and 3 pm on Saturday, July 10 in front of the Lisbon Falls Library. 

Oldies 106, owned and operated by Lisbon Falls resident Rick Rioux, broadcasts online at www.wqry106.com each day from 6 am until midnight.  The station features music from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. Programming also includes special feature shows like Super Solid Gold Sunday Nights with music from the 50’s and 60’s and Steely Dan Sundays, featuring the music of Steely Dan every Sunday from 2pm-4pm.

Since 1983, The Moxie Festival weekend in Lisbon, Maine has been held on the second weekend in July.  The Festival now includes a three day Pow Wow; Friday night firework show; a Saturday parade, 5K race, and family fun carnival; and on Sunday, the Chief Worumbo Androscoggin River Race.  Moxie was designated Maine’s official soft drink on May 20, 2005.

According to Lisbon Public Safety Officials, an estimated 40,000 people attend the three-day Moxie Festival.  The Town of Lisbon has approximately 9,300 residents.
