On Thursday 10/6, Lisbon Sugg Middle school girls soccer celebrated their
third victory in a row defeating the Monmouth Mustangs 2x1 at home. Defense
played with great passion by stopping the Mustang’s Forward time and time
again and keeping them tying up the game. Chandler Riordan got to the ball
just at moment numerous times. Conchita Thomas amazed the public with her
hustle and technique. Emma Lavesque kicked many balls far away from the
defense, and Sydney Douglas locked up her side of the field. Goalie Ali Sult
played a great game, making 12 fantastic saves.
Midfielders battled fearlessly to win the battle for the middle field. Left
Midfielder Abby Gamage ran tirelessly to recover the ball, assist the
forwards and take all Lisbon’s goal kicks and free kicks. Center Midfielder
Kipri Steele played aggressively to rule the center field, and Right
Midfielder Sam Buldoc made many good passes to the Forwards.
Hope Morse led the Offense line by scoring both of Lisbon’s goals. Katherin
George gave her best on the field, dribbling passing many opponents and
taking shots from long distances, at the point she left the field with both
of her knees really painful. Both Right Forwards Makayla Tilley and Emma
Houle played very well trying to assist her team mates and not giving up on
any ball.
Lisbon Sugg middle school girls soccer next game is on Tuesday, 10/11/2011
against Winthrop, on their turf.
