Town Employee Arrested For Growing Pot

Jon Paul was arrested last week in the town office and escourted out in hand cuffs for an alledged illegal activity.  Paul who is the town's computer technician, was arrested for an illegal pot growing operation.
The investigation and arrest were conducted by the Maine State Police and Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.  It was stated that the Lisbon Police Department was not involved.

It's tuff being Green in Lisbon.

Hmmm,,,  Chief David T. Brooks  how do you explain this one?   Right under your nose again.   Boy, is the town getting their money's worth with you, NOT.

Gives merit to comments made by residents earlier and really discredits the value of any dialogue from Brooks and his support group.

What will we have next, another self promoting benefit dinner to name the name for the new name that noone wants to name...When councilor Mason has to ask other councilors to sign the certificates she created for herself!

Wake Up Lisbon Residents.  YOU have been hoodwinked and bame boozled long enough don't you think?

You have councilors that are only interested in protecting the interest of themselves and their questionably unscruptulous, unethical, and illegal activities of the past.

The damned Attorney General's office can't even come to a conclusion of the fraud of $32,500 from the Town's economic developement fund.  Who signed that check?  What a Joke!

And for those keeping score, I wrote this.

Signed,

Todd Comber
A Lisbon Concerned Citizen founding member and Proudly a former resident.

And you have this lavishly funded Police Force in Lisbon for What?

Haven't seen anything in local papers about this yet have you?

Michaud Pounces On Levesque

MICHAUD CAMPAIGN ATTACKS LEVESQUE’S INTEGRITY…
…with misleading spin

Auburn, Maine – According to a news website, Congressman Mike Michaud’s team is attacking Jason Levesque’s integrity with falsities in an effort to spin the 2nd District Congressman out of his own votes. According to a posting at DownEast.com, Greg Olson, campaign director for Michaud, sent two emails attacking Jason for print and radio ads he has been running in the district. The ads have mentioned that Mike Michaud voted for a ‘bailout’ along with the failed stimulus package and trillion dollar health care bill. According to Olson, these claims are untrue.

“Unfortunately, not everyone understands the importance of integrity. Mike’s opponent in Maine’s Second Congressional District race has recently started attacking Mike in radio and print ads, claiming that he is out of touch with what Mainers want. Among his charges, he says that Mike voted for the bailout even though his constituents were firmly against it. That is partly right. Voters in the second district did oppose Wall Street bailouts. However, Mike did too.” From Greg Olson in an email according to http://www.downeast.com/the-tipping-point/2010/august/conflict-maine-politics

Unfortunately for Congressman Michaud and his campaign director as Ronald Reagan said, “Facts are stubborn things.”

Apparently the litany of bail outs this government has voted for has confused even those in congress. Fact check: there’s been more than one.

Mike Michaud voted for the auto industry bail out and you can see roll call here: H R 7321

“When you start to try spin yourself out of your own votes, you know you are in trouble. Mike Michaud ignored the will of the public when he voted for the auto industry bailout. Now, he has again betrayed the public’s trust and interest by misleading voters about his own record with Greg Olson’s emails,” said Alicia Preston, spokesman for Levesque for Congress.

She continued, “If Congressman Michaud and his team would like to engage in a conversation on the issues and Mike Michaud’s record, Jason and his team would be happy to do that. We’d just appreciate it if they were honest in the discussion.”

This Is Chilling

This is chilling...
=============================================    In
1952
President  Truman
established  one  day  a  year  as  a

"National Day of Prayer."
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In 1988
 President Reagan
designated the
First Thursday in May of each year as
the National Day of Prayer.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

 In June 2007
 (then)
Presidential
 Candidate Barack Obama
declared that the USA Was no longer  a
 Christian nation.

---------------------------------------------------------------
 This year
 President Obama
canceled the
 21st annual National Day
of Prayer ceremony
at the White
 House under the ruse
Of "not wanting to offend anyone"

------------------------------------------------------------------------

 On September 25, 2009
from 4 am until 7  pm,
a National Day of Prayer
for the Muslim religion was Held on Capitol Hill,
 Beside the White House.
There were over 50,000 Muslims that
 Day  in  D.C.

b
       HE PRAYS WITH THE MUSLIMS!
 I guess it Doesn't matter
if  "Christians" Are  offended  by  this  event -
 We  obviously Don't  count  as
"anyone"  Anymore.

The direction
 this country is headed
should strike fear in the heart of every Christian,
 especially knowing that the
Muslim religion believes that if Christians cannot be
 converted, they should be annihilated.
This is not a Rumor –
Go  to  the  website
 To  confirm  this  info:

Pay particular attention to the very bottom of the page:  "OUR TIME HAS COME"  I hope that this information will stir your spirit.

The words of 2 Chronicles 7:14    "If my people, Who are called by my Name,
 Will humble themselves And pray,
And seek my face, and Turn from their Wicked ways,
Then will I hear from Heaven
And will forgive their Sin and will heal Their land."

We must pray for Our nation, our communities,
Our families, and especially our children.
They are the ones who are going to suffer the most.
.
 If  we  don't  PRAY
May  God  have  Mercy.
IN GOD WE TRUST.

Please pass this on
Maybe someone, somehow can figure out a way to put America
back on the map as it was when we were growing up,
a safe place to live,  and by
The Ten Commandments and Pledge of Allegiance.
For Obama to continue as our president
is an INSULT TO OUR FOUNDING FATHERS

The Worumbo Mill Project‏

The Worumbo Mill Project

If by some miracle, the town purchases the Worumbo Mill
property for a Waterfront Park, some have expressed concern
about money invested in the MTM Center Park for their popular
Concerts in The Park.
My response is, concerts would still be held at MTM. It’s a great
neighborhood area, residents can just walk over, it’s centrally
located. I don’t think a Waterfront Park would take anything
away from that.

A downtown waterfront park, adjacent to Route 196 would
give people to pause, drive in, and hopefully check out what
else is available in town. A kiosk with town businesses, and
attractions, history of Worumbo Mill and Hydro Plant, schools,
the MTM Center with all it has to offer, concerts at MTM Park
with a directory. A map and history of the town. We have so much
to offer.
“Build it and they will come”. And work on Lisbon Village next, the
forgotten area of town.

You never know until you try.

And, it can always be sold by the town if it doesn’t work out.
I see it as a bold investment for the town and it’s future.

Properties listed with a Realtor go on the Internet, and are available
to a wide and varied number of investors. I have spoken with the listing
Agent, and he is willing to work with us on the project, but he will
not be sitting back waiting for something to come his way. He will be
working with potential buyers. Once sold, we lose control.
If not sold in six months the mill and office buildings will be demolished.

Is this what we really want to happen?

THINK ABOUT IT.

IF YOU THINK IT’S A GOOD IDEA, CALL TOWN MANAGER ELDRIDGE,
CALL MS. BRADLEY, CALL YOUR TOWN COUNCIL MEMBERS,

FIVE THINGS AMERICANS NEED TO UNDERSTAND

FIVE THINGS AMERICANS NEED TO UNDERSTAND
ABOUT HOW GOVERNMENT REALLY WORKS
John Hawkins, Townhall.com   January 26, 2010
One of the biggest problems we have in this country is that so few
Americans understand how our government works in the real world.  Since
that's the case, most people simply aren't capable of making an informed
judgment about whether politicians can deliver on a promise.  With that
in mind, it seems like a good idea to go back to basics and explain what
so many of us have already learned the hard way about the government.
Government can't compete on even footing with the private sector:
There's a reason why you get better service at Wal-Mart than at the DMV.
It's no coincidence that FedEx makes a profit while the post office loses
billions.  Moreover, it's no shocker that Enron and Lehman Brothers are
gone, but FEMA and ICE are still around.  It's because the government
can't compete on an even footing with private industry.
Unlike businesses, they don't have their own money on the line, most
of their employees advance based on seniority, not merit, and government
agencies don't pay a big price for failure.  To the contrary, if a
government agency does a lousy job, it just means it will probably get a
bigger budget the next year.
What it comes down to is that the only way the government can compete
with a business is by outspending it or by rewriting the laws to make the
business less competitive with the government.
Government action often creates more problems than it solves: People
are always clamoring for the government to "solve" problems, but what
they don't understand is that when the government "fixes" one problem, it
can often create another issue that may be even worse in the process.
Our government's attempts to "fix" one problem or another led to the
length of the Great Depression, the destruction of the black family in
America via welfare, marriages shattering across America because of
no-fault divorces, gas lines in the seventies, the Savings and Loan
crisis, and the current banking crisis that was caused by a
government-created housing bubble.
While the government is not the root of all evil, many of the worst
problems we have as a society were exacerbated or created by the
government in its clumsy attempts to fix some long forgotten mess.  This
is why government should be treated as a necessary evil, not a force for
good.
It's extremely difficult to shrink government: Our political system
rewards spending money and punishes cutting spending. For example, if you
create a 300 million dollar a year "Giving Fluffy Kittens to Orphans
Program," people will love you for it. Animal shelters and pro-orphan
advocates will publicly laud you for your compassion while orphanages
around the country will funnel campaign cash into your coffers.
Meanwhile, if you bring up the cost of the program, most Americans
will shrug their shoulders and say, "Ah, it's only 300 million dollars."
However, if you suggest cutting 50 million dollars from the "Giving
Fluffy Kittens to Orphans Program," you'll be accused of hating orphans
and kittens while every orphanage in the country will be screaming for
your blood. In other words, government spending is easy to get started,
but difficult to stop.
That's why it's wise to be very hesitant to create any new
programs -- because billions can be frittered away on useless debacles
like Head Start that have proven to be nearly impossible to kill despite
the fact that they don't work.
Our politicians lack expertise: Many people seem to attribute almost
super human abilities to our politicians, but the reality is far
different.  Most of the politicians in DC are bright people, but as a
general rule, they have a very superficial understanding of the subjects
their legislation impacts.  How can we expect people who barely know how
to use the internet to handle a subject as complex as network neutrality?
How can we think someone who has worked in government all of his life
can truly understand how much a new regulation may hurt someone running a
small business?  Moreover, given the length of bills that are being
shoved through Congress and the fact that these bills are written in
legalese, many of our legislators undoubtedly don't even fully understand
what they're voting on half the time.  Point being, even when members of
Congress have good intentions, their lack of hands-on experience can lead
to disaster.
The first priority of our politicians isn't solving our problems: As
the great Thomas Sowell has said:
No one will really understand politics until they understand that
politicians are not trying to solve our problems.  They are trying to
solve their own problems -- of which getting elected and re-elected are
number one and number two.  Whatever is number three is far behind.
Getting reelected may entail lying about what a bill does, punishing
people who don't deserve it because it's popular, rewarding special
interests who may help your campaign, and promoting bills that sound good
but don't work.  The sad truth is that politicians are often rewarded at
the ballot box for pushing policies that sound good, but ultimately do
great harm to the country.  That's all the more reason to limit the power
of government as much as possible.

Husband Down

On the PA system:

'Cleanup on aisle 25, we have a husband      down.'

A husband and wife are shopping in their local Wal-Mart.
The husband picks up a case of Budweiser and puts it in their cart.

'What do you think you're doing?' asks the wife.

'They're on sale, only $10 for 24 cans he replies.

'Put them back, we can't afford them demands the wife', and so they carry on shopping.
A few aisles further on along the woman picks up a $20 jar of face cream and puts it in the basket.

What do you think you're doing?' asks the husband.

'It's my face cream. It makes me look beautiful,' replies the wife.

Her husband retorts: 'So does 24 cans of Budweiser and it's half the price.'
