This Applies To Lisbon Also

REMEMBER
IN
NOVEMBER !!!
KEEP THIS ONE GOING AND GOING AND GOING......

TILL NOVEMBER 2010 AT LEAST.
I'm MAD AND YOU WILL BE TOO!

Your U.S.  House & Senate have voted themselves. $4,700 and $5,300 raises.

1.
They voted to. not give you a S.S. cost of living raise in 2010 and 2011.

2.
Your Medicaid premiums will go up $285.60 for the 2-years and you will not get the 3% COLA: $660/yr.
Your total 2-yr loss and cost is -$1,600 or -$3,200 for husband and  wife

3.
Over 2-yrs The  House & Senate each get  $10,000 raises

4.
     Do you feel SCREWED?
5.
WILL your cost of drugs - doctor fees - local taxes - food, etc., increase?  You better believe they will!
WILL THEIRS...NO WAY
. They have a raise and better benefits. Why care about you? You never did anything about it in the past.
You're obviously too stupid or don't care. No offense; just making a point!

6
.     Do you really think that Nancy, Harry, Chris, Charlie, Barnie, et al, care about you?

SEND THE MESSAGE-- You're FIRED.
IN 2010 YOU WILL HAVE A CHANCE TO GET RID OF THE SITTING CONGRESS AND
Up to 1/3 OF THE SENATE,
AND 100% OF THE HOUSE.

MAKE SURE YOU'RE STILL MAD IN NOVEMBER 2010 AND TELL THEIR REPLACEMENTS NOT TO MESS UP!

It is ok to forward this to your sphere of influence if you are finally tired of the abuse.

Maybe it's time for the........

Amendment 28

"Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United
States that does not apply equally to the Senators or Representatives,
and Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators or
Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the
United States
."

Let's get this passed around, folks - these people in Washington have brought this upon themselves!!!  It's time for retribution.  Let's take back America .
If you don't forward this to all your friends you're just part of the problem of national apathy.

IT'S TIME!!!!!!!
JUST DO IT!

What A Great Idea Dot Has

One Million dollars is a big chunk of change! That it is!But when watching the Moxie Parade on Saturday I lost count of the number of fire equipment we have here in our little town. We can afford (?) to purchase two (2) new police cruisers each and every year.

What an excellent idea Dot has. Fire trucks? I was thinking of the same, watching the parade. Of course we need firetrucks! But how many millions has the Town got invested in them. Overkill? I really don't know, but seems as if so, from a little peon, here.  And the HUGE ladder truck.? Do we have anything in this Town over three story's?   And, I understand that Lewiston, Auburn, or maybe Brunswick are really the beneficiary's of it?

Also, personally, I also believe it's overkill with our Police cars. However. Let's face it.  Aren't the Council Members intimidated by the Dept.?  When we went to the Council form of Government,  I would have wagered that intimidation would possibly/probably end.  Boy, was I wrong.  Sure glad I didn't wager!

Let's hope Dot has a good thing going here and it can be sold to the Town.
Again. Excellent idea/suggestion, Dot!

Maine Web News

Is Eliot Cutler getting special treatment from MaineToday Media because of a special relationship with them? Is life expectancy going down? How does your salary compare to the average state employee here in Maine? Find out all the answers on Maine Web News.

Just Imagine

Dear Friends and Fellow Residents;

Many of you know by now that the Worumbo Mill
property is now on the market, listed with a Real Estate
Agency. As Ms. Bradley, the Town of Lisbon  Develop-
ment Director, had not been able to find the right person
or company to purchase and develop the property,
Mr. Miller decided to put it into the hands of a Realtor.
Ms. Bradley is still working with the Realtor to find the
best fit, for the property  and for the Town.

The asking price for the parcel south of Canal Street,
together with the Worumbo Mill and the red brick,
office building, with 5.75 acres and 1,000 ft. of
waterfrontage on the Androscoggin River is $899,000.

The parcel north of Canal Street, between Route 196
and Canal Street containing 2.5 acres is on the market for
$169,000.

The day that came on the market I saw an article with
photo in the newspaper of  the waterfront park in Bangor.
The Town of Rumford has a beautiful waterfront park as
do the Towns of Richmond and Bowdoinham. It got me to thinking,
"why not a waterfront park right here in Lisbon?" Why can't
the Town of Lisbon purchase the property and create a beautiful
waterfront park? I know what you all are thinking.

One Million dollars is a big chunk of change! That it is! But
when watching the Moxie Parade on Saturday I lost count of the
number of fire equipment we have here in our little town. We can
afford (?) to purchase two (2) new police cruisers each and every
year. We have spent, or will be spending over one million dollars
on walking paths. Buying the Worumbo Mill Property, with it's
historic value, creating a waterfront park would be an investment
in our future. The value of the two buildings would be increased
considerably and could be sold. We, the Town would have total
control. Waterfront property is at a premium, it does not  come
along every day. Just imagine, concerts in the park, picnic tables, a
stroll along the river, Christmas lights. Perhaps a first class
restaurant with outdoor dining in the summer, a Mini-mall with shops.

We would be a destination, not just a  drive through.
Business would thrive. We could have a gem, right here in our town.

Town Manager Eldridge has agreed to include the proposal on the agenda
for the Tuesday July 20 town council meeting.

Thoughts and feedback from the public?

Moxie & Maine "Where it all began"

"You've Got Moxie" says Frank Anicetti of Kennebec Fruit Company at The Moxie Store in Lisbon Falls.

Watch & Listen to Maine's Mr. Moxie, Frank Anicetti

Kennebec Fruit Company on the corner of Routes 125 & 196 in Lisbon Falls.

Moxie was invented in 1876 and first given by the spoonful as an 'elixir' for 'medicinal purposes.'  Then in 1884 it was carbonated and served as a beverage.

Moxie, the bitter-sweet beverage that has been in the form of a carbonated beverage for 124 years. Frankly, it is the "oldest carbonated beverage on the market today".  It is considered to be the "beverage of gourmets".  The taste comes from the herbal root gentian.  You have to taste it for yourself.  But remember, "Don't spit it out".  Let it tickle your taste buds.

Be sure to check out "The Moxie Store" and pick up your "Original & Official" souvenir from this years Moxie Festival.  On a hot day there is nothing any better than a Moxie Ice Cream Cone to cool you down. It will put a smile on your face any day.

Have fun and we want to wish everyone a safe weekend.

Moxie Ice Cream "You 'Betcha' It's Wicked Good"

Frank Anicetti serves the world’s only Moxie ice cream at the Kennebec Fruit Company in downtown Lisbon Falls, Maine.

Sample the only ice cream with Moxie

For close to 40 years, Frank Anicetti has served the only Moxie ice cream found in the USA to thousands of people who come to the Kennebec Fruit Company store on the corner of Main Street and Route 196 in Lisbon Falls, Maine.

Frank’s grandfather opened the general store in 1914 and five years later started selling his own salt and ice method ice cream.  By the time Frank took over the store, fruit and vegetables were being slowly replaced by all things Moxie.

In the mid 1970s, Frank perfected a Moxie ice cream recipe and now sells it alongside his vanilla, chocolate, coffee, and black raspberry.  As 40,000 people descend on Lisbon Falls for The Moxie Festival many will take this unique opportunity to delight in the taste of the nation’s only ice cream with Moxie.

The Kennebec fruit Company is open seven days a week and family members will join Frank as he takes care of customers on Moxie Festival weekend.

The Moxie Festival today includes a three day Pow Wow; Friday night firework show; a Saturday parade, 5K race, and family fun carnival; and on Sunday, the Chief Worumbo Androscoggin River race.  Moxie was designated Maine’s official soft drink on May 20, 2005.

According to Lisbon Public Safety Officials, an estimated 40,000 people attend the three-day Moxie Festival.  The Town of Lisbon has approximately 9,300 residents.

Right To Free Speech Suspended In Gulf Oil Disaster

First Amendment suspended in the Gulf of Mexico as spill cover-up goes Orwellian

Saturday, July 03, 2010
by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger

(NaturalNews) As CNN is now reporting, the U.S. government has issued a new rule that would make it a felony crime for any journalist, reporter, blogger or photographer to approach any oil cleanup operation, equipment or vessel in the Gulf of Mexico. Anyone caught is subject to arrest, a $40,000 fine and prosecution for a federal felony crime.

CNN reporter Anderson Cooper says, "A new law passed today, and back by the force of law and the threat of fines and felony charges, ... will prevent reporters and photographers from getting anywhere close to booms and oil-soaked wildlife just about any place we need to be. By now you're probably familiar with cleanup crews stiff-arming the media, private security blocking cameras, ordinary workers clamming up, some not even saying who they're working for because they're afraid of losing their jobs."

Information Being Kept Out Of Mainstream Media

What Mainstream Media is Not Telling You about the Gulf Oil Cleanup

Saturday, July 03, 2010 by: Paul Fassa, citizen journalist
(NaturalNews) What surface oil dispersant for oil spills is so toxic and ineffective it has been banned in England for a decade? The one that British Petroleum (BP) is using now in the Gulf of Mexico. It's loaded with 2-butoxyethanol, which kills marine and wetland wild life while causing serious lung problems to humans!

It is more toxic than the oil it purports to clean, and it simply sends the newly formed toxic globules of dispersant and oil further into the depths where it forms underwater plumes. It's like pouring paint thinner on spilled paint and letting it drip out onto the lawn and garden, except the underwater plumes of thinned oil and toxic dispersant spread onto the shore lines, wetlands and coral reefs and into the Atlantic via the Gulf Stream and beyond.

Senate Republicans Block Vote On Investigative Powers for Oil Spill Commission

Senate Democrats today asked unanimous consent to pass legislation that would give the BP Oil Spill Commission the subpoena power it needs to do its job. "Frankly, it's time we have a vote after so many Republican objections to this commonsense legislation," said Sen. Robert Menendez. "[This bill] asserts that we want to protect those families, taxpayers, not oil company profits."
This was done last week just before they recessed for the holiday vacation.
